Live aid...
by fleaman uk in.
well, ive just recently purchased the live aid dvd this weekend and its brought back some great memories of a truly great day of music.i remember it really affected me for some time after.i also remember it was a district convention day and i had a bad case of "hay fever"so couldnt go.. i thought queen and u2 stole the show and the dvd has confirmed that imho, but what a fine effort by mr geldof, who still works hard in the charity dept even today.its such a shame that the need is still there for third world charity but it is great that people care so much.it beats waiting around for some far off paradise.. i would highly recommend this dvd, yep, some great stuff on there.

welcome to you Aloneinoh.
I can totally concur about the Parent situation.Ive toyed again and again with taking all the evidence i know about the "Truth"not being the Truth to my Parents, but have decided at least for now,not to.It would (if ,of course they ever read it and it did sink in)destroy them. These are good ,decent people whose life revolves around the religion and those in it.They are also relatively tolerant of me (a fader with my Worldly Girlfriend)and my DFed Brother.
All im saying to you is think very ,very carefully before steaming in to Devout Parents and relatives. It may cause irreperable damage.
Whatever you choose to do,i wish you all the very, very best my Friend.

In another incredibly foreign country, a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far, away, once upon a time, Brother FakeName witnessed to the local prison population. Sure enough, the biggest, meanest, nastiest prisoner on death row became a die-hard JW. Special permission was given by the warden to baptize him. Well, he apologized to the guards for his former behaviour, but the sentence was never commuted. The Brother FakeName accompanied the prisoner to his hanging, and as the trap door fell away, the prisoner whispered, "Jehovah, help." BUT... the guard closest to him heard what he REALLY said, "Jehovah, help Brother FakeName." Aww. -Source: Circuit Assembly
yeah i remember that 1 (or one similar)as a kid.it was from japan and when the Guy..remember he was a convicted Murderer.....was executed ,the Governor ,witnesses to the execution etc were bawling theyre eyes out because of his "right hearted ness"and "sincere repentance"and "much interest was then shown for Gods Word".
(i could use them in Minimus other thread!)

Decree of divorce?
by Brummie ini got a letter from the court last week telling me that a decree of our divorce will be read at the courts on the 8th of dec, does that mean thats it now?
or is there other decrees read out or something?
it stated that neither of us have to be at the court since we have no differences to settle.... .

Hi Brummie
If your Wife petitioned for Divorce at the end of August then yes,if the grounds were mutual, that would probably be your decree absolut being read out on the 8th december.Thats the quickie Divorce.
I presume you received a copy of the Decree Nicae first?Thats like the midway part of the Divorce.
Anyways, all the best to you Mate.

Being a JW Woman - Was It Really That Bad?
by eljefe ini have seen quite a few posts from many ex-jw women about how unhappy they were about male domination in congregation.
was it really that bad?
when i was still a jw, no one ever told me anything to that effect.

It had nothing whatsoever to do with my decision to leave. I think women should be put in their proper place.
????? Hmmm what exactly does that mean? I think it means you are easy to wind up...
